& Snehalaya

The agriculture training centre provides training in newer farming methods and farm produce-based entrepreneurship to small farmers. The Krushimitra project provides handholding to farmers for group farming, finding markets for farm produce etc. Since 2019, we have also working in rural Maharashtra to empower villages to be water-sufficient. Saving the environment, soil conservation and plantation of trees have been undertaken by Snehalaya in our bigger campuses where sufficient land is available. Snehalaya organisation has been working primarily in Maharashtra in Ahmednagar, Pune and Aurangabad.

Objective of the project

"Empowering Rural and Tribal Livelihoods"

The primary objective of the project is creating a role model for sustainable rural and tribal development by providing them livelihood options.

"Promoting Forestation and Ecosystem Conservation"

Encouraging forestation, conservation of ecosystem, responding to challenges like global warming.

"Ensuring Food and Nutritional Security"

Ensuring food security, nutritional security, and preventing degradation of natural resources are crucial steps in achieving our primary objective.

"Addressing Farming Challenges for Sustainability"

Addressing issues of low profitability among small and marginal farmers, as well as tribal communities, is also key to our success.

Conservation of wild plants, herbs, flower, vegetables, etc. by undertaking research at the centre.

Targeted Population

1. People belonging to the local Katkari tribal community.
2. Other local tribal population.
3. Small farmers mainly from the OBC and Dalit communities in Kinhavli and surrounding rural areas.
Location: of proposed Malpani Smriti Centre is in Kinavali village about 9 km from Saralgaon. Shahapur, Chikhalgaon, Kinawali, Murbad, Nashik, Thane, Tribal, Backward Areas. It’s on the Saralgaon -Shahpur Link Road close to Malshej Ghat of western mountain region. Average rain fall: 2500 to 4500 mm. Hence it’s difficult to work during June to October. Staple crop and diet of locals: Rice and some seasonal vegetables.
