Drs. Narayan and Chandrakala Malpani were compassionate doctors dedicated to serving others and improving lives. The Malpani Smriti Center honors their legacy by continuing their mission through various humanitarian projects, creating spaces that reflect their lasting impact on the community.
The Dr. Malpani Smriti Center is a project initiated through the collaboration of two trusts—Snehalaya (Ahmednagar) and Malpani Trust (Nanded). Malpani Trust was established on 21st November 1973 in Nanded. It operates in the districts of Nanded, Amravati, Thane in Maharashtra, and in the Harda area along the banks of the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh. The main objective of Malpani Trust is to promote organic farming, afforestation, and environmental protection in Bajwada, MP, by raising awareness in local communities and providing various employment and professional opportunities to empower rural and tribal communities, helping to prevent their migration.
Snehalaya
Snehalaya was established in 1989. For over three decades, Snehalaya has been working in rural India to provide rescue, rights, and rehabilitation to those adversely affected by the commercial sex industry, poverty, and droughts. We began rescuing trafficked and forced women and children from red-light areas in 1989 and have been fighting HIV/AIDS, eliminating second-generation prostitution, and ensuring that no minors are involved in the sex industry in the Ahmednagar district since its inception.
